ABOUT TIX
The Joan and Irwin Jacobs TIX institute at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) was established through an endowment by Joan and Irwin Jacobs TIX aims to be a platform for strengthening the links between the industry and academic, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship and collaboration among NTHU and Israeli institutions of higher learning such as Technion. In the acronym, T is for Tsing Hua, Taiwan, and Technion; I is for Israel, Innovation and Incubation; X is for cross disciplines and can be any topic of interest.

TIX currently supports the following: The International Entrepreneurship Interns is to support Technion and NTHU students who have the fervent desire to gain startup knowledge and experiences by interning at the incubators of NTHU and Technion. The Industrial Exchange Scholars Program aims to enhance NTHU students’ vision and insights on industrial innovation. The Industrial Secondment provides an opportunity for academics to undertake a collaborative research project in an industrial environment. The TIX Junior Fellows program gives postdoctoral fellows resources to transform novel technology and ideas into a viable product or services and launching startup companies. The Dual-Ph.D. Degree Program encourages Ph.D. students at Technion or National Tsing Hua University to pursue dual-Ph.D. degree jointly offered by the two universities. Lastly, TIX holds an annual bilateral workshop to facilitate the establishment of substantial collaboration between NTHU and Israel. TIX also aggressively promoted the NTHU-Technion Dual-Ph.D program and research collaboration among NTHU and Israeli institutes.
